Our Team was in Nyanza for the second phase of our training cycle of 1,5 years. We were very happy to see that all 6 CBR participants have proven to be very motivated. During last visit in March we touched items like CBR management and monitoring, identification and assessment of people with a disability, self help groups, and community awareness raising activities.
During our visit, we provided the second training phase, with courses about the role of the CBR worker in the different intervention pillars, like the provision of home-based rehabilitation, advocacy for inclusive education, poverty alleviation and empowerment of the person with a disability through communication skills and informed decision making.
We are especially happy with this comprehensive program that will touch 1200 people with a disability at a time, with interventions that answer to their basic needs !
Onze ploeg was in Nyanza voor de tweede fase van een opleidingscyclus van 1,5 jaar. We waren onmiddellijk zeer blij als we zagen dat alle zes deelnemers nog altijd even gemotiveerd zijn. Tijdens ons laatste bezoek in maart hadden we het over onderwerpen zoals CBR management en monitoring, de evaluatie van de noden van een persoon met een handicap, zelfhulpgroepen, en sensibiliseringscampagnes,.. Omdat we nu de tweede fase aanvatten, konden we gaan werken rond de verschillende interventies die in CBR plaatsvinden: revalidatie aan huis, promotie van inclusief onderwijs, armoedebestrijding via vaardigheidstrainingen en microkrediet, en het versterken van de persoonlijke autonomie door communicatievaardigheden en betrokkenheid bij beslissingen die te maken hebben met de persoon met een beperking.
We blijven enthousiast over dit project omdat het op elk moment 1200 mensen met een beperking zal bereiken, op een manier waarbij een antwoord wordt geboden aan de hoogste noden !
Notre équipe était à Nyanza pour la seconde étape d’un cycle de formation de 1,5 ans. Nous avons été heureux de constater que les 6 participants, travailleurs RBC, sont toujours super motivés. Lors de notre dernière visite en mars nous avions abordé des sujets comme la gestion en RBC, l’évaluation des besoins primaires du patient dans la communauté, les groupes de soutien, et les campagnes de sensibilisation,..
Cette fois ci, lors de cette deuxième phase de formation, les travailleurs RBC ont été formé sur les différentes interventions en RBC: la réadaptation à domicile, la promotion de l’éducation inclusive, la lutte contre la pauvreté avec le microcrédit ou l’entrainement des capacités, et l’autonomisation de la personne handicapée par la communication adaptée et la décision informée.
Nous sommes surtout très enthousiastes car ce projet RBC touche 1200 personnes handicapées en les aidant à répondre à leurs besoins primaires !
